A surprising measurement may describe the cases that were kept and the alternatives that were averaged together, not a single event. Before you make it a sign about your life, ask what was chosen.
The Teaching
A real experiment found that, measured only over the photons that made it through a cloud of atoms, the atoms spent a negative amount of time excited. The result is genuine. The scientists who ran it say plainly that nothing traveled backward in time. The number is negative because it averages a duration over selected successes while the paths of the light interfere. When you keep only the cases that worked and blur the ways they could have happened, the timing of the middle can read backward without anything actually reversing. So ask, before you carry such a result into your own life: what was selected, what was averaged, and does my situation even have those things. If it does not, keep the result as a beautiful fact, not a guide.
