Some love feels clean because one person inside you says it is clean. Some love feels approved because one person outside you says it is good. Neither is enough when you are tired, lonely, or afraid to stop being needed.

Look for correction in more than one place. What has the loved person said or shown? What does your conduct show about rest, refusal, need, support, secrecy, and resentment? What does a real duty, source, vow, clinician, or trusted person say that you did not choose only because it agreed with you?

Love does not become less loving when it can be corrected. It becomes less likely to hide as sacrifice, certainty, or need.
