A practice should be read on two axes: whether it validates or undermines its own result, and whether the practice is retained, abandoned, or embodied after it works. But for modern solitary practitioners, these axes are not the first safety question. The first question is what part of the help remains shared. A raft can be left behind, a negation can keep correcting speech, a recognition can be retained, and a sitting practice can become ordinary conduct. In every case, the danger is the same: the person may discard correction with the tool, or privatize the result as proof that no one else is needed.
Why it may be new
